If I said it once, I have said it a million times, this place is awesome! It is the number one, most under-rated city in Europe in my humble opinion. It is in my top 5 places to visit before you die (OK, can you tell I like this place?). It is a quaint town with plenty to do on a two or three-day trip.
The best location to stay is the Sheraton, which is right across the way from the Wawel Castle. For points people, this is perfect because you can use your SPG points here for free nights, or the cash and points option. I will write a more detailed post later on Krakow, but for now, here are the places to not miss:
- Wawel Castle
- Strolling around downtown on the cobblestone streets.
- Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum – hire a private guide to surpass the people in the queue and the students, plus it is better to be alone with your thoughts on this one.
- Wieliczka Salt Mine
- Classical music at the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul
