I have not written about points in a very long time, but this one is too good not to say something:

It’s Back:  British Airways 100,000 Avios Visa Card

For a limited time, you can earn a total of 100,000 British Airways Avios points after applying for their signature card and meeting a number of spending requirements.

The first 50,000 points are easy—you’ll get them after completing a $2,000 minimum spend in three months. This is worth it on its own, even if you can’t earn the additional 50,000 points for spending more.

But, you’ll be able to earn an additional 25,000 Avios points for spending $10,000 within the first year, and then another 25,000 Avios for spending $20,000 within the first year.

The interesting thing about Avios points—managed by British Airways—is that the best way to use them has nothing to do with British Airways. If redeeming for BA flights, you’ll pay some hefty fuel surcharges to get to London or anywhere else, which dilutes the “value” of the points.

So what do you do instead? You redeem them for flights on OneWorld partners, in particular American Airlines (for short-haul flights in the U.S.) and Iberia (for transatlantic flights with no fuel surcharges).

Here is the link to the British Airways Website for the offer (this is not an affiliate link)
