No foreign transaction fees on the United Mileage Plus Explorer Card

Bring home memories, not extra fees.

The United MileagePlus® Explorer Card is enhancing your travel experience  with a rewarding new benefit. Effective June 1, you pay no foreign  transaction fees on Card purchases outside the U.S. Plus, you still  receive all these great benefits and more when traveling internationally:

Priority boarding. You can board United flights ahead of general boarding, giving you more time to settle into your seat and stow your carry-on items.

United ClubSM passes. Relax in a United Club with the two one-time use passes you receive at your Cardmember anniversary.

Earn miles with your Card when you travel — 2 miles per $1 spent on tickets purchased from United and 1 mile per $1 spent on all other purchases.

I am always searching for the perfect card to take with me on the international trips I take and never in the past would take this card due to it charging the foreign transaction fees, so now I can add this one to my list of possible cards to take!

I don’t have a long list, but Nerdwallet has compiled a long list of cards I (mostly) do NOT have, but you can search here to see if you have No FOREIGN TRANSACTION FEE CARDS in your wallet.

More benefits is always positive. But this would still not be my go to card. I would prefer to earn Ultimate Rewards over United miles any day.

@Erik, true, but not everyone has the UR cards, so this one will do in that situation.
