Transatlantic Cruises for repositioning are cheap ways to cross the Atlantic

These are great cruises for those who just want to relax and hang out on a cruise ship, with all the amenities for a transatlantic trip for inexpensive prices.  The industry calls them repositioning cruises.  Basically what they are doing is transporting the ship to a different port for a different season and so they offer deep discounts, because the sailing is unlike a normal route.

Now, I  will admit that I don’t particularly like cruising, but if I had all the time off in the world (retired, student, non working heiress) then I might consider taking one of these.

Check them out here from CruCon Cruises website.  The ships are Royal Caribbean ships and leave from Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Galveston, TX, New Orleans, LA and Puerto Rico.

Spooky timing, as I have just at same time posted an article about Transatlantic crossing and 12 tips to chose and make the most of them where also discuss this versus the Cunard QM2 one. Here is the article which hope helps: http://www.tipsfortravellers.com/2012/11/12-tips-for-choosing-and-making-the-most-of-a-transatlantic-cruise-crossing.html

Jane, thanks for the info, I have never tried a repositioning cruise, but as soon as I have the chance (kids leave the nest or retire), I am game!
