Online shopping portals: evrewards

One easy way to earn frequent flyer miles or hotel points is to use a shopping portal. I call evrewards a hassle-free tool designed to find out about all the reward programs and promos out there when you are shopping.  You may have never heard of a shopping portal, but they are easy to use and always add an extra little value to your frequent flyer miles by adding a few miles/points to your accounts.  I’ve found that clicking through a shopping portal really only adds a few seconds to my online shopping experience. After that, it becomes a habit. Evrewards should be your habit. You can also easily add it to your toolbar of favorites to remember to use it every time.

My favorite is Evrewards! Evrewards indexes over 40,000 rewards and coupons.

Here are the steps I typically take when I find something that I want to buy online:

  1. I start by running a search on EVReward to find the best deals for a particular website (e.g. Amazon, Sears, Staples, Home Depot) where I plan to buy the item.
  2. Next, I analyze the results and figure out which shopping portal offers the best deal.
  3. Click on the orange arrow from the airline you want the points in, it takes you to the website you want.
  4. Choose the item you want and add it to your cart.
  5. Then checkout and complete your purchase. I try to make sure I don’t leave the page or open new windows to ensure I get the bonus miles.
  6. Enjoy the points you earned within 4-6 weeks!

I don’t shop every day, nor even every week, but when I do, I make sure I use EVRewards.
